Tonight was a rather good night. A group of people, Chris, Stephen, Morgan, Lars, Shannon, and I had dinner at Stafford tonight in a sort of dinner party fashion. Lars prepared a salad and I cooked chicken tikka masala and rice. Although everyone said they were going to help cook I sort of just took over the kitchen and cooked it all myself. It was more satisfying that way because I felt this great sense of accomplishment when not only I thought it tasted great but everyone else did as well. I was also just proud of the fact that I could cook and host so many people in my flat without going crazy, something that typically happens at my house in Montclair because I get too overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to clean up and the amount of people moving around (as Julia, Lauren, Ellie, and Sophia know enough about). We all sat in my flat talking and eating lots of food until we were kicked out by a stupid policy put in place at the building. It was mostly just Stephen and Chris who had to leave (they don't live in the building) but everyone left with them. For the first two weeks of school, all throughout the Vic accomodations, there are no guests after 10 and no alcohol allowed. This is because first years get a little too crazy in the first two weeks so they wanted to try and restrict them a little. So, although we were all having a really good time, everyone had to leave.
I'm feeling very comfortable here. Even though I felt really confused and lost today trying to find classes, I feel comfortable. I'm not sure if it's the great weather we've been having (super sunny) or the fact that I feel like I'm developing a good group of friends, but I am beginning to feel my way into a comfortable niche in this city.
